About the Author - Dr. Lisa Samuel

Dr. Lisa Kristine Samuel is pursuing her passion about natural and beneficial psychological approaches that apply for all of us by researching current topics and trends in behavioral medicine.  She has received her Ph.D. in Psychology with a specialization in biopsychosocial studies and health.  She completed her coursework with a 4.0 GPA and has had her work exploring the relationships between eating, health behaviors, and cognitive style published and cited in multiple academic venues. 



Additionally she is a Certified Health Coach, having received training from the largest nutrition school in the world.  In this program she studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and cutting-edge coaching methods including holistic nutrition and the importance of preventive care.


She has completed multiple degrees including an Associated Degree in Medical Science (AS), a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration (BA), and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA). She not only has a well-rounded and diversified education, but she also has had experience as a Desert Storm Navy Veteran, a surgical assistant, a research manager, and a director of operations for a consulting firm. She has been a member in good standing in the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Association for Psychological Science (APS) since 2006.

Lisa is a wife and a mother to two boys and volunteers her time to bring up her local community's status by volunteering for Boulder County Aids Project for over 5 years.  Her interests include mastering ethnic cooking cuisines, making jewelery, kayaking, snorkeling, cheering on the Colorado Avalanche and her son's hockey teams and growing her garden in Lafayette, CO.
